Why Buckeye Comfort Solutions?
Most technicians do not quit over the hourly rate. They quit because the day is stacked so tight nothing gets diagnosed properly. Because the invoice has to hit a number before the truck pulls away. Because the seat they are in is the last one on the ladder.
Buckeye Comfort Solutions runs it differently. We are a veteran-owned, family-owned HVAC company in Mentor, and we give our technicians the time to diagnose heating, air conditioning, and electrical problems properly. We are still growing, which means the people who join us now have room to grow with the company.

Opportunities
Yes, we are hiring in Mentor and across Lake County. We accept applications from service technicians, installers, maintenance technicians and apprentices. We would rather meet the right person than rush to fill a list. Tell us which seat you want, and we will confirm what is open when we talk. If that seat does not exist here yet, it might once we have met you.
Why Work For Us?
Your Boss Is the Owner, and He Picks Up
Ask for a raise, a schedule change or a different route, and you are asking the person who decides. No area manager, no regional queue, no waiting on head office. Buckeye Comfort Solutions has one owner, and he answers his own phone. You get an answer, not a process.
You Will Learn From More Than Residential Work
The owner came up through Marine Corps avionics, then residential and light-commercial HVAC and electrical, then industrial process testing. Industrial refrigeration teaches a different way to chase a fault. That habit is how diagnostics get done here, which means you learn a method, not just a parts list.
Certifications You Can Put On A Résumé
EPA 608 covers refrigerant handling. OSHA 30 covers jobsite safety. The owner holds both, so the standard is set by someone who has sat the exams. Tell us which certification you are missing, and we will put it on the table with the offer, in writing.
Nobody Here Chases A Daily Number
Upfront pricing is the business model, so the price is set before work starts. You find what the system actually needs, explain it plainly, and quote it. No pressure to sell a compressor when a capacitor is the answer. Your day is judged on the diagnosis, not on a ticket average.
Five Kinds Of Work, So The Calendar Stays Full
Heating, air conditioning, water heaters, indoor air quality and electrical. Five lines of work in one company is what keeps a schedule full through April and October. Shoulder seasons are when technicians get sent home early somewhere else. A local HVAC company with this mix is built for them.
Every Seat Above The Truck Is Still Open
Buckeye Comfort Solutions is still building its team, which means the next lead technician, field supervisor, or service manager may already be joining us today. Come in early, prove what you can do, and help shape the role you eventually step into. At a growing company, your next move does not depend on someone else leaving first.

What We’re Looking For
You finish the diagnosis before you reach for a part.
You explain the fault to the homeowner in their words.
You call back when you said you would call back.
You would rather ask than guess.
You keep learning after the certification is in hand.
You want a company to build in, not pass through.
What you’ll need: A solid grounding in HVAC fundamentals, safe work habits, and the ability to diagnose residential heating and cooling. Certifications, licensing, tools, and experience requirements depend on the seat. We confirm all of them with you before anything is agreed.
Career Growth
We would rather promote someone already here than hire above them. At a company founded in 2025, the path above the truck has not been filled in yet.

Leadership
Speed is a function of skill, not seniority. Show you can run the harder calls and the next rung is yours, whatever the calendar says.
Pay and Benefits
What sits in a package depends on the seat, and we would rather confirm every line with you than advertise something that does not apply to the role you want. Pay, vehicle, time off, and tools all get put in writing before anyone accepts anything. Ask early in the conversation. We answer straight, including on pay.
Employee Referral Program
Know a good HVAC technician? Nobody hands one over for a coffee mug, so a referral has to be worth the introduction. Tell us who they are, and we will tell you exactly what the referral pays and when, in writing, before you say a word to them.
The Person You Would Be Working For
Thomas “TJ” Follett served five years as a Marine Corps avionics technician, where he built his electrical and technical skills. He moved into residential and light-commercial HVAC and electrical, then into industrial process testing. He came back to residential work because his heart is with HVAC and he wanted to help customers again. He founded Buckeye Comfort Solutions in Mentor in 2025, on the view that customer service has gone by the wayside at the big companies. For a technician, that means the standard you are held to is the one he set for himself.
